Exclamation Solo J-Pipe Users - How Quiet At Cruise?

To those with Solo J-Pipes: How quiet is the exhaust at a steady cruise? Anybody know how it compares to Corsa at cruise? I know my Corsa is near silent at cruise (even with LT headers and a cam).

How does the AMF noise sound on the J-Pipe exhaust?

I just had the Solo Mach XL installed. The cruise volume increased a tad over the stock exhaust system. I have the LS3 so I can't comment on AFM.

It's pretty quiet inside the cabin while cruising a bit louder then stock for sure. But, everyone driving behind you will know you have an SS with a killer exhaust.

don't have it yet but one way or the other I will have it on my 2SS come spring. been going back and forth between the axleback and Mach XL but leaning to the axle back. Just want a slight increase in sound. nothing super loud, the axleback will do that IMO.

You guy's are all deaf as haddocks lol. Cam, high flow cats, headers and Solo Mach XL and my car is much louder than stock in the cabin. No drone but loud. Outside is a whole different story, everywhere I go people make comments on how it sounds like a muscle car should sound and how loud it is.

Yep, it's a bit louder than stock inside catless w/ headers. Sounds great though! Zero drone with the J's almost all the way out on mine. Drone was killer 1400 -1700 on my MBRP system before.

I have loved my catback J-Pipes that came with my SS(used). Loved the deep growl. Just added headers yesterday and the sound is much louder and higher-pitched raw sounding than before. Love the headers but the sound is way beyond what I was expecting, which was just a little more beefy-ness to the sound. I went to Vengeance Racing in the Atlanta area for the work, and they are great.

Does anybody know how it can be toned down, significantly? I get much drone and any push on the accelerator screams look at me.

If you have drone, you may need to adjust the j-pipes. The length should be set accordingly depending on the RPM range of the drone and they can help you with that chart.

You can try adding a resonator, like the magnaflow resonated x-pipe. You must be careful though when you start adding parts to an exhaust as they are tuned to perform/sound a certain way and your changes can have adverse affects.

Contact Solo, Steve is awesome and will help you achieve your goals for sure.

I have them on my LS3. mods in sig. I had some drone at 1500-1800 rpm, or maybe just exhuast sound as it was more from out back then inside as drone usually is.This is when my J pipes were adjusted to 29" long. I then adjusted to 31.5" long and the car is quiet now in the 1500-2000 rpm range at freeway speeds and on level ground. The longer the pipes, the lower the rpm range the drone is killed at.
