Vinyl stripe repair

Well, I buffing out my black with silver rally stripes 2LT RS when I got to the hood bulge and "murphey's law" kicked my ass again. The buffing bonnet ripped and the rubber disc underneath cut into the vinyl about 2 1/2 inches long and pencil thin. The black paint underneath is shining through. Is there anyway to repair it or do I have to go and replace the stripe?
Thanks in advance.
Pete

New stripes. And don't buff anywhere near the edge of the new ones. Put some blue painters tape over the stripe edge, and then don't even buff up to the tape.
