Don't know what that would have to do with someone bumping it with their knee, that just doesn't make sense.

It would make sense only if GM designed a key cylinder that had a failsafe lever, button, or similar mechanism that would need to the actuated along with a key that would not allow it to be inadvertently kicked to the off position. I'm not on the inside of these meetings so I have no idea what the final fix will be. Seems anything that would stick into the existing cylinder could potentially be kicked to off unless it was flexible. I'll just wait and see what they come up with and decide whether I want one.

Why is this just a recall on Camaros and not the other GM vehicles that uses the exact same setup?

Maybe they want to do the tumblers so we cant use our old keys. I'm with everyone else unless they want to upgrade me I will keep my switchblade key. I'm 6'4" and have had my car since Nov. 2009 and keep only 3 other keys on the FOB and never had any issues. |

The shadow of my 2010 has not darkened the entrance to a service department since I took delivery in September, 2009. She's not going in for this recall, either. I love the switchblade key, and I'm not giving it up for a garden-variety detached key fob.
