Z/28 vs. C7

The Z28 is hinting around 500 hp. Some say the C7 will have 500. The Z28 is going to be about 600 pounds heavier although weights have not been confirmed. If so would have to assume 1/4 mile times much better with the C7 particularly with an automatic. Track times about the same. Most likely the C7 will be in the $50K range and with all the creature comforts. Some have hinted the Z28 will be more expensive. I personally think the C7 looks better. Unless you need four seats why would anybody buy a Z28?

If I was personally spending that kind of money on a car, I would rather have the Corvette.

I started to think about getting the z28 and trading the zl1..........too close to the end of the model run........although the z28 is now likely the car to collect..I hoped the zl1 would have been but I acted in haste... ...then you still have the vette to worry about.............the move here would be to get the new vette in a couple years when they put a real motor in it.......you get your decent comfort level WITH performance and wont have anything else in your class

Only problem with that is going to be price. Most won't be able to afford that new Z07 or what ever it will be called. And too it's a long wait until it comes out if you are wanting a new car now.

I would buy the Z/28 because it is an iconic car. I have always wanted a true Z/28 and this is a true Z/28.

Z/28 minght beat out the c7 for me purely because it is such a focused car, it is purpose built not to please a large majority, but to go fast that's it!!!

On the drag strip or road course the C7 wins hands down, the weight difference and CG difference is just too great. Folks forget the C5 Camaro is really a disguised 4 door Holden Commodore. The C6 Camaro ATS platform will be far better as it is better focused on weight as well as performance and more recent technology. What makes the C5 Camaro so popular was it's absence from 2003 to 2009 and the allowance of function follows form in the styling.

First model year “base” C7 vs. ultimate Gen5 Camaro? No Contest. Z/28. There will be better Corvettes to come, as for 2014 I wouldn’t buy the C7.

Z28 is the better car...it has the better engine and its a pure race car!!! I dont believe the LT1 will have more than the advertise estimated 450hp.
