Touches oil meaning needed to be lubed by it.

Generally a bolt on was something that a person of lower mechanical ability can accomplish at home in little time. Rockers take less time than headers. They’re easy and offer lower gains just like most bolt ons. Actually less in LS engines than they used to add in older SBC’s but easier to install
I like the lower mechanical ability part. Still a rockers are a very very low ability mechanical stuff.

True enough. I guess that would make a catch can not a bolt on as well since it encounters engine oil - it gets kinda silly.

The problem with this whole "bolt on" discussion is it means such dramatically different things to different people. It's like try to say so and so has "standard modifications". Would be dramatically different from car to car. It's a pointless discussion.

Not really.....jyst be liberal like furd guys with your bolt ons. Rockers has been bolt ons since the 80s for EVERY domestic make. I see no reason to change that.

You saud touches oil.....now you're getting specific. But yet you're open to adjusting stuff that touches oil......strange.

Btw....i thought you was out

Hammer still described it best.

I'm ok with not adjusting or fooling with anything that touches oil. Now when you can get the furd crowd to leave that stuff alone I'll think about leaving it alone. Till then I'm doin max effort bolt on and I'm ok with that.

And they don’t offer big gains in hp either like a Cam
Or heads. They add 5-10 generally just like most bolt ons.

428 RWHP is about right for your mods. Thats exactly what my car did with the same mods you have (except the vitesse throttle controller) 445 RWHP is high.

This is why there are rules in racing classes. You have to be specific when it comes to stuff like this. Some stuff seems easy to understand until you start really pushing the envelope.

Don't kid yourself on class racing. Alot of times it comes down to which manufacturer best supports the series. ....or new manufacturers get breaks to join in.

Ex: i worked on a race team for quite a few years. We raced BMW (yokohama bmw) in the ALMS and other series. Of course i would watch other series some while at the track. I was watching the continental series back when the s197 mustangs came out. Went over to look at them because i was like "Damn they sound good ". Knowing a 4.6 was supposed to be in the showroom stock cars......guess what. It wasn't no 4.6 in there. It was their 5.0 cammer engine. So....it comes down to the series will allow you to get by with what tgey want you to get by with to be there.

You mean corruption, payola ($) and bending of the rules has penetrated racing? In America? Say it ain't so!
