The red does look really good but I agree with most people on this site about the sunroof taking away from the beautiful camaro.

Well, I don't exactly like how it opens but consider this: When closed, it keeps a nice smooth shape and it doesn't make the roof look hacked like in the previous t-tops. It also allows more light inside (if you want more). On the other hand, if you drive it, you will never look at yourself through a giant mirror and the ability to open and close on the fly makes it a better option than having to stop and remove your t"s and stow them in the trunk. Nowadays, it's all about convenience.

Though the sunroof would be better if it stayed in the roof, I don't think that would be possible given the slope of the roof in the back. I'm not getting a sunroof anway, I want my reverse mohawk!

Does anybody has dimensions on the roof opening?
I wonder if the size makes it a viable worty option?

the sunroof looks sexy as hell to me.. it opens up the same way on my gtp so im used to it! ( it grew on me.. at first i thought it was weird) i've had 4cars with a sunroof and i wont buy one with out one.. my caddy, two cougars, my gtp... and my impala will be getting one soon .. Oh and by the way my car hits 142 mph almost weekly somewhere (it tops out at 142) and the sunroof is hangin on just fine.

and i think u guys are so distracted about the d@mn sunroof and didnt notice theres a torque guage in the 4 pack??!?!?! i thought they werent coming out with these is this red one an old preproduction one too??!?!

and theres no traction control button.. (is that because its manual?)

Edit button ftw. Torque gauge will be replaced by something. I forget where they said what it was, but torque gauge was canned. Also, what would you do if you added a cam or blower for torque? You'd break the gauge.

Now.... that brings us to the issue of people comparing the spy photos to the "beauty" shots of the concept. Most of the people taking spy shots were using small consumer cameras with regular zoom lenses and not a "wide angle" lens like this. OF COURSE the concept is going to look more dramatic and the spy shots are going to look a lot flatter and duller. It's the lenses!

I've never had an issue with the styling. I think they get the concept "spot on" with the V-6 camaro. I don't feel the love for the SS nose and never will. The sunroof opening outside the body was another "nails on a chalkboard" moment for me a few weeks ago when we first saw it. I took a lot of heat for not liking these parts of the car.

Now, if they get around to telling us they're going to offer blue on the SS and/or a HUD in a reasonable amount of time, then I'll be the first in line to get one.
You and I both have been critical of the front bumper and I agree with you that the sunroof could have been done better. However tomorrow morning I will have to make the decision as to which model I am going to get. My wife told me to go ahead and order whatever I want. Am I being selfish here ordering a manual SS when my wife wouldn't be able to drive it because she only knows how to drive automatics? I've offered to teach her but she refuses. So to make my wife happy I would have to pick an automatic and to me getting the SS automatic is a waste, so I would probably just get the V6 automatic fully loaded for the same price as I can get the 1SS. So it is either the 1SS or 2LT/RS??? What should I do? I would not be unhappy with the V6 since I like the look better, however I know I will miss the power of the V8 and the fun of a stick. I'm torn as to what to do here...

Sunroof looks good...but as others have said, I wanted the reverse mohawk.

Former Rides:

1966 Chevelle (1971-2007)
1970 Chevelle (1974-1991)

Spring of 2009....2SS/RS - Red Jewel Tint with Black Rally Stripes...
the wait is excruciating!

I guess it really is to each his or her own, but I think the sunroof looks good (perhaps that's because I ordered it). Take a look at the fifth picture (front end offset shot). The like of the scoop on the hood perfectly aligns with the raised sunroof. You can see it again in the 11th picture (side shot). To me, it is great design and it accentuates the lines of the car when it is opened. If you really want to complain, ask why there are no T-tops.

Thought the torque gauge was only replaced in the auto trans.

I say get the 1SS,there is nothing like driving a manual trans V8. My wife knows how to drive a manual but refuses to, I will be getting the 1SS manual.
I would rather have the fun of the manual trans standard than pay for other toys on the LT. I agree on the look, I am not a fan of the nonfunction mail slot SS front, the standard nose looks better IMO.
