I've got a blown SS with many extras. I called around and landed with Progressive. I told the agent what I had and that I wanted to insure it for what I had in it $65,000. The agent and I took pictures and I had to list all my extras. My driving record was clean and still is (knock on wood). They wrote me a policy to cover everything I have. I just recently went back and dropped the coverage down to $55,000. I'm sury if I had to replace my car $55K would buy me one hell of a nice used blown SS and I'd have $$ left over. I'm 55 years old.

I've shopped everywhere trying to find better rates but State Farm can't be beat when insuring teens. Once they're gone......I can beat their rates. Lots of mod $$ flying out the window for kids insurance premiums!!
Get a car insurance quote from The Hartford. They gave me the best deal for the teen drivers on my policy.

seems odd.. I just did that and my quote I received was about 1500 less than what I pay now. Where do you up the coverage for modifications and most insurance companies want to know if you have +200 HP like Im going to have since they feel with a more powerful car your more likely to crash it I assume ... theres no place for that info in that quote

That's exactly what I did with the Harley- Progressive too. If someone doesn't tell their insurance company of mods, and pay extra to cover them, I wouldn't think you'd get re-embursed for claims.

I know earlier I read some threads here where someone's insurance dropped them. It's something you have to be very careful with when investigating. Uhhh, hi Allstate, Can you give me a quote for a modded out new Camaro with 650+ HP?? Yes- Zero dollars since we no longer cover you!! (This is what I don't want to hear)

I assure you that insurance was the last thing the rest of us gave a shit about when we pulled the trigger. State Farm here also. They don't need to know. If it is a total loss, I'll buy it back and get my parts.

then what happens if you get a fender bender, an insurance adjuster shows up... sees the blower and parts and then you get dropped on the spot ... theres no reason it cant happen

Unless you're insured with Dicks r' Us, I highly doubt that would happen.

Had it happen last week. Someone backed into the car trying to parallel park. It was parked in front of a local restaurant. I already have a check in my hand.

Twin turbo, big intercooler under there, etc. State Farm.

Its ok man. Quit trying to talk yourself out of it.

I forgot to mention that I took the adjuster for a ride.
