...literally.

You have taken care of two issues that I don't like about a lot of air intakes. Not having a metal tube that gets hot especially on the inside and not having a filter that will be parked too close to a wall.

I agree with what you said about the aluminum tubing. What I do is put the thermal barrier coating(TBC) on the inside only and a heat dispersant coating on the outside to help get rid of the heat. I think what you are doing with the silicone rubber is probably the best.

Thanks for the positive feedback so far! Time frame at the moment is probably appx. 2-3 months before they can start shipping... The silicone tube manufacturer said it would be about 3-5 weeks once I submit the final drawing to complete my first order because they have to make the tooling for the intake tube. Once I get the tubes I can ship the first intakes for independent testing, and hopefully derive final performance numbers from that info, and what I've already done.

I am also debating a group buy to get these off the ground and out in the world... If I can get 25 people signed up, I can do it, and I would be able to offer ~$20-30 off the price I have in my head, and possibly half off Camaro matching color options for the box, if the powder company ever makes me happy with the "match" the come up with for the rest of the colors... So far the only colors I am happy with the match are VR, IOM, SW, and Black. Standard powder coat colors for the box will be satin black, and silver, which will be included in the base price.

The group buy option is still a ways off from being announced. I want to see how the independent testing goes, get their reviews/insights and put a "final performance claim" number to the intake prior to starting it. Obviously some minds may change after the independtent testing, and the final "claimed hp gain" is officially announced. I realize that some people may think the numbers shown thus far may be unrealistic, which is why I want to see how the independent testing compares before putting a "real" gain number to it. I appreciate the positive comments, but please do not post on this thread if you are interested in a group buy option. A group buy will be announced in the Sponsor Announcement / Contest / Give aways section when it does. If you ARE intesterested in potentially signing up for a group buy before I actually start it please send me an email to jason@jacfab.com, and I will save all contacts interested and let you know when it is time...

If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions, or constructive criticism about the intake or what I am doing, by all means feel free to post.
