Angry It finally happened...

Howdy y'all...well, it's been a long minute since I've posted on here. Y'all give some great advice and I've found the answers to most of my questions through y'all. So thank you!! This time, I'm writing with sadness. I believe my L99 finally chewed threw a lifter on start up today. I will post the pics and video for your review. I think I know what happens next, but if anyone has a bunny to pull out of a hat today, I'd appreciate it! Viewer discretion is advised..lol.

Ouch! Well, that block is probably toast, so if you've gotta go through the effort to pull the motor, may as well do an LS3. And damn, only 4 posts in 8 years? Lol...

Here’s the deal, that block is toast. The question shouldn’t be to go ls3 unless you want to buy a crate motor. You have all kinds of options. go find a gen 4 6.2 block and start with that. If it’s a budget themed build, see if you can reuse the crank and put after market rods and pistons in it. Or look at stroker kits. Then, look at the different head choices. you could put the lighter intake valves on your 823s and reuse them. All kinds of options!

Get the cheaper stroker alum block you can get. You dont 'need' an LS3. Could be a resleeved anything.

Good luck. Threat yourself with a 416ci.
