1. The car is a 2012 but it was assembled early on in that model year's run and was given a cover that many of you are claiming is from the 2011 model year i.e. clips and not bungee.

2. I only had 4, 237 miles on it.

I'm hopeful that the new one has the bungee straps or otherwise I'm seeing this become a repetitive issue. Although now I'm concerned that I have the old top that has all of the water bag issues...

Still gotta love the car man!
My 2011 vert had the plastic clips, and I never had a problem with it even trying to pop off while I was driving.
as long as you tuck in BOTH the front flap and the trailing edge, it should be fine.

My 2013 ZL1 Vert has the bungee loops. While I'm sure they are more secure, they're also more of a pain to get the dang loops over the post.

Just because you got the older style cover you think your top is the old style as well???

You should be able to tell from your VIN if you have an early model or a later model.

Also the dealer can look up your particular VIN and see if there are any TSB's for it including anything for the top or the water bag.

So far I have 6,600 miles on the 2013 ZL1 Vert and the top is still perfect.

Lost my cover about a year ago on the highway at 75 mph. I had the old style clips. I know it was installed correctly at the time, and survived the 2 hour trip down to the track that morning. Luckily, I recovered it in the median with no damage. I then designed "keyhole" clips so they slip over the post and slide up. I've since had it over 113mph with no movement at all.
I also used spray adhesive to line the underside with heavy felt material. I've had no rub marks on the top since doing that.

Mine flew off at 35mph on aggressive acceleration. No way it is lasting to 155mph.

Pics at the top of this page. I sent someone a drawing of them several months ago so they could try making them. Haven't heard from them since...

Here was my solution to keep the tonneau cover from flying off and it works great!!
This is for the style of cover that has the bungie cords underneath.

My buddy lost his cover on the way to Camaro fest last summer, to bad I was behind him and ran it over.
He ended up getting a new one under warranty.

TDD

I have the original with the snap down tabs

stayed on at 130 MPH but the car gets loose in the rear end at that speed, might try it with top up to see if that makes a difference as far as handling

Finally got my Camaro Convertible, love this thing!!!!

Last month I was lucky enough to come across a 2011 Inferno Orange Convertible with only 5400 miles on it. It still SMELLS NEW!! Still have to drive it a day without at least one comment, whistle, or thumbs up!

Well, was on the highway the other day, probably going around 80mph, and the cover flew off. I know for a fact I had it installed correctly, I'm pretty anal about those kinds of things. Clips attached, properly tucked in, etc. Still, POOF!

The <elderly> woman I bought it from told me she only used the cover ONCE, since she rarely drove the car and when she did she rarely even put the top down. I wish I had read these forums before. I was able to retrieve it but a couple of the plastic pieces have broke off so I'm sure it won't stay on now. Considering buying another one but really don't want this to happen again. I really like the way it looks with the cover on.

Sounds like a faulty design for sure. DARN!!!

My 13 came with the bungee fasteners but still came loose. I added Velcro to the cover where it folds down behind the seat, no more issues.
