Yeah! a rachet type shifter would be my choice.
you read my mind brotha. i sold our M6 2SS in anticipation of the Z, but know am thinking an A6 with a 1900 Harrop SC.

but i haven't seen an auto shifter that does suck! why not this stubby Hammerhead slap shifter with a new base design?

i disagree. my wifes G6 GT had a STOCK slap (ratchet) shifter right from GM. electronic......yes.......still have the old school style and feel......yes!

Thats fine but the B&M or Hurst style automatic shifters are cable operated and therefore cannot be used on newer electronic controled transmissions!

I suppose a shifter of this style could be built but it would definitely be an expensive piece. The thing is the factory buttons actually work very well, put them on the shifter and it's a natural
