Z06 wheels?

I'm looking for a good set of wheels/tires to put on my 11 SS. I've been told to put a pair of z06 or grand sport 18" wheels on my car to get the best results with 18" rims. Anyone else heard this? And what would be a good set of tires to go with for street/track use. I want 305 on the back.

Yes, 18x9.5 (+40 offset) Corvette wheels (and replica wheels) will fit on the rear of the 5th Gen without any spacer or modification (other than the need to move the emergency brake cable over a bit). Most folks here run a 305/45R18 drag radial. Unfortunately, they will not fit on the front without some minor modification to the spindles and/or spacers.

From any corvette year on specific? And is it the rims that wont fit on the front or the tires? I can go with thinner tires on the front.

I believe any C5 or C6 wheel in the 18x9.5 (+40) size will fit the rear. And I'm pretty sure the wheels themselves hit on the front spindle.
