Mags... as in wheels? I have'nt heard that since middle school!

I love the hood on the CTS-V race car. And I really dont care what wheels come on the "Z" or "HP Edition"(stupid, genaric sounding name) because that is usually the first thing that gets changed along with bad choice of tires that usually come on cars from the factory.

That hood would look particularly great on an HPE (that's for you, fbodfather!) CONVERTIBLE!

Looks like testing just began at Sebring during the last week in preparation for the 1st event at the end of March.
Some great pics in this gallery:

Man - I'm just not a fan of that hood. I've seen some better looking aftermarket options that do better on form and function.

Okay, its beautiful. But this 'muscle' look is part of the reason GM can't sell any cars to compete with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and soon the new VW Phaeton.

Cadillac should stick with the successful new and refined look. This return to the 'american muscle' roots is not going to catch on.

I would have bought a CTS over my car hands down.

Huh? The hood is on a RACE car.....what does that have to do with selling cars vs. the competiton? Which they're doing pretty well at, by the way....

Great photos! And welcome. Way to keep an eye out and thanks for posting the comparison!

Oh - and I'm all for GM actively carving out their individuality, whether it's on race cars or street cars. Pumping out another Benzo look-a-like, ala Lexus and <gulp> Hyundai, wouldn't do them any good.

I'd bet my truck nutz on it.

Looks alot like the Z06 wheels... i have wanted these Z06 wheels on the SS ever since they went to this style...

As far as the hood speculation...sure, why not. But if I'm looking at the Z/28-HP Edition "spy shots" correctly, the hood appears to have vertical dividers along the horizontal slots, while the CTS-v race car hood has only horizontal slots...IMO most hoods with heat-extractor slots are going to look somewhat similar to each other...

And big side note- that ctsv coupe race car is beautiful!! The wheels look like they tried to keep them as close to looking like the production wheels, which I think is cool. It further makes the owner feel like they own a "race car". (the 556 hp doesnt hurt either)

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like that idea of the hood for the Z28. I think that CTS-V looks awful, too. Looks like a riced-out Honda doing drifts. Nothing about that hood says 'muscle car', therefore I don't want it anywhere near my muscle car
