After trying a few different cap designs, I believe we got it squared away. We have added several steps to our quality control process for this product. Each tank is pressure tested and thoroughly inspected before shipping.

Mine is leaking like a SOB, I will send a PM to talk about how we resolve this.

I have two awesome dogs and I don't want them to potentially lap up some coolant and get sick.

Willing to buy a new cap, but want to get this resolved ASAP.

Thinking of my dogs and my engine bay... ha!

Thanks!

I must have the only reservoir that has never leaked and my cap has been fine since day one. I have one of the earlier production models

I'm sure it is totally fixable, but right now a real big problem.

I just ordered one from lingenfelter. My dad has one on his LPE700 ZL1 and it has the same problem, feels like its stripped and won't get tight. Seeing how this thread was started in 2013 I am hoping that this has been fixed. I read another thread somewhere that said Rotofab did not send these to LPE with caps and LPE provided their own with the kits. Going to a local auto parts store and buying a new cap solved the problem.

Just spoke with RotorFab they are taking care of my situation. Very friendly and they were happy to make this right.

*The world (including speed shops) is not perfect, what counts is how they/we resolve our issues. Not the issues we have. IMHO

I hate to revive an old thread, but here goes. I had a local performance shop install quite a few upgrades to my car, one being the rotofab coolant tank. I have the leaking cap as well. I contacted Roto-fab about the issue and they sent a new unit, but the new cap leaks as well. I notice that some others said that they found aftermarket caps that solved the issue. Anyone got a link to one that worked out?

As a temporary fix you could wrap some Teflon tape around the threads. Just make certain you don't get any in the reservoir. That should get you by until a permanent repair comes about.

Thanks for that JB. I have done that for a temporary fix. Hoping to find a solution without having to send this whole thing back and buy a different tank. Apparently there are some aftermarket caps out there that can solve it, and hope I don't have to go through the trial and error process like others have done before.

What does your cap look like and it does it fit tight? Mine looks like an OEM radiator cap and threads on very tightly.
