the SS hood should be fiberglass and therefore lighter. the spoiler might weigh a slight bit more due to the extra material in it.

The OEM SS hood is not fiberglass, it is a urethane composite. Some reproductions are fiberglass.

i knew that im not sure if i want the oem or reproduction one, leaning towards reproduction because of the weight

Just wondering, wouldn't you want something with a bit more stiffness? Fiberglass seems a bit...well...flimsy.

its more flexible than a steel hood that has bracing, but it is still stiff. and lighter weight. ive got a fiberglass hood on my car and it does flex some, but not enough to where its going to break anything. granted I could bend/break it easier than a stock hood, but im not actively trying to do that.

you could just redo the whole car out of Carbon Fiber if you really wanted to.. its fairly light weight.. lol

actually, I remember an article where they made cf fenders and they weighed roughly the same as the stock ones. not to mention, I ususally run without the hood at the track anyway. safer than losing it halfway down.
