L99 Exhaust Upgrade
Been thinking about doing it, but there are many here who have done it and regret it due to the AFM noise.
Is it really that bad? |

^^ Until you have a drive line problem ^^.
Don't loose your warranty- Get the Solo J-pipe axle backs. I have absolutely no drone or AFM noise on My L99 SS with these, plus a great deep aggressive sound.

Nonsense. I have a 3" magnaflow competition catback and no tune. AFM is not that big of a deal. When it kicks on all it does is change tone a bit. Also i get zero drone. It just simply sounds way way better now.

i have Borla ATAK without TUNE on mine and i think people are extremely exaggerating about AFM

I'm interested in this info also. I'm thinking of buying one for my '12 SS. I have heard good things about the Solo, but the Borla name just stands out there. Subscribing to this thread!

if you do a muffler delete and dont take out the resonator it wont be any different than stock afm.

There really isn't AFM drone with the Solo system, but there is AFM noise. It's there when stock too, if you know what to listen for. To me, it sounded like my car was farting every time it kicked in and out. I paid for a V8 and that's what I want, not a 4-banger 75% of the time. The best solution is a tune. Yes it's a risk losing your warranty, but this is supposed to be a fun car, not an econo-box. Come on, GM
