Hawaii-Five O still using the Gen 5
Our son watches Hawaii Five O and I caught a glimpse last night of a new episode to notice they are sticking with (still using) the Gen 5 SS. Glad to see but was surprised to see it this deep already into the Gen 6 model cycle. I would like to think they (actors/producer/someone) realizes it's a better looking car but it can't be that simple. It's a stretch for me to believe the actors really would care what they drive in the show while doing their job, but hey maybe. I would have expected if GM is a show sponsor that they would have provided the show producers with 4 or 5 Gen 6 cars by now to replace our "old" model.
Perhaps they are waiting for Danny to decide on a 17 ZL1. Thoughts boys & girls? |

My guess is they filmed before the gen 6 was available? But then again if this is paid placement you would think they'd be all over the new model.

You might think that but last night's episode would have been shot (best guess) in October/November with the 16's already having been out for a year and with 17's arriving. I did a search and the net shows the black 2014 SS airing back in October of 2013, so fairly early in the restyled 14's release. We are well into year 2 of the Gen 6 and nada.
Don't get me wrong, I'm good with this cause I have made no secret of what I think of the Gen 6. |

I guess they could have badged an LT as an SS & added Recaros/ZL1 rims. Safe to say the show has more than a few Camaro's to work with. But that's not the question this thread was created to pursue based on last evenings observation. Thanks for your contribution.

I am so glad to see a thread about this because I was thinking about this myself last night. If you don't watch Hawaii 5-0 regularly, Danny does own the Camaro but hardly gets to drive it.
Also, Chin-Ho's mustang is freaking awesome. |

I've wondered about this too. Especially at the end of last season there was a fire fight and the car got shot up to hell and back. Thought that was going to be the excuse to roll out the 6th gen on the show.
And yes, Chin's Mustang is incredible!!

the gen 6 might perform better but the 5th is easily the better looking "Muscle Car"

You guys got too much time on your hands, LMAO.
They had a 6th gen Camaro on Chicago PD last week and it outran the cops LOL. It was some good advertisement for the Camaro with the chase scene, |
