Question 50th Anniversary Possibility?

Just figured I'd see what y'all were speculating on.

When the 6th gens come out I plan on buying an SS for a weekend toy and continuing to use my current '11 as my daily driver. Do any of you think there will be a 50th anniversary Camaro in 2017? I know they usually do it by 5's... 25th, 35th, 45th.... But I'm hoping for a 50th! Because if so... that's what I'm waiting for!

I'm sure they'll do a 50th. After all, it's 50 years. That's a long time!

I'm sure I'm going against most everyones opinion but I disagree with the idea of anniversary issues, how can you have a 45th or 50th anniversary when the car was out of production for 7 years?

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Camaro fan, I've owned at least 10 over the years. Just question the legitmacy of the "anniversary".

I'll probably do the same thing. Buy a 2017 50th anniversay Z/28 and keep my 2LT for one of my favorite future grand kids. I'll be retired in 5 years and be in a position to have a weekend only car.

I'm sure they will. My loan will be paid off on this one exactly when the 2017s come out and I plan on getting a 50th anniversary so I'll have my 1967 and a 2017. Doesn't matter if they took a few years off, first Camaros were built in 1967, so 50 years later is 50 years later.

It's the anniversary of the first model year, not how nany years the car was made.
Think of it this way: if you are married in 1967 and then separate in 2002 after 35 years, then reconcile after 7 years, you would still celebrate your 50th year anniversary in 2017 because it would be the 50th year anniversary from the date you were married. You wouldn't wait until 2024.

This has been beaten to death already.

I dont know if GM will do it. Like mentioned above the camaro has always been on the 5's. I think 10 years apart for anniversary editions is good. I think 5 years would be too excessive.

Maybe they will have a special edition like the centennial edition corvette. 1/2 century edition? lol

....assuming an SS model will still be offered. Let's not forget that they didn't offer the traditional Z28 for the 5th gen.
