Tire Pressure

The manual reads to have 36psi in each tire while cold.
But when I drive the pressure gets up to 40 psi, is this OK ?

Yes, absolutely!

Check your pressures first thing in the morning or at least allow 4-6 hours to cool before baseline and filling.

I have mine at 36 PSI cold and the DIC reads 40 PSI heated up on freeway driving over 15 miles. DIC reads 37-38 PSI during rain freeway driving and 36-37 city driving (rain or not).

+1

...also, be careful as the sidewall ratings/info state not to inflate over 40psi. These are pretty sensitive tires and deserve much, much TLC.

I just got my On Star report, my car was in the garage hadnt been driven in a few days and the outside temp was in the mid 50's. On Star reported all four tires at 32 psi. I am sure it goes up as the car is driven.

Also, be aware that if the car is sitting in the sun, the tires WILL heat up! I didn't believe my girlfriend when she brought this up about her truck, but I realized the difference: 2-3 lbs when sitting in the CA sun!
