One last picture from 1980....
This was before the face-lift on the building was completed -- (which would have been around 1988 as I recall......) Note the original turquoise fiberglass panels in the front of the showroom - very stylish in 1963 -- but by the late 80s- - not so much........ So many memories! Tom and Sue and I have been very blessed...........

Mom and dad had an 80 Cutlass Cruiser Wagon... over 300,000 miles on her before she puked a head gasket. My son drove it to school for a while. (He broke the CUTL off the Cutlass Cruiser emblem... think about it)

Scott and Tom,
I hope you know how fortunate you are to have such a detailed pictorial history of your families. I can't thank you enough for making us honorary family members in this thread. |

I sometimes think I may be 'overdoing' it with the history thing - but on the other hand, I also get a lot of PMs telling me to keep doing it...... (.....esp. embarrassing pics of 'the lil weasel' -- )

Love those old pictures... don't think I've ever seen so many Chevettes lined up in one place.
My wife had a Chevette when we married in 83 and I had a 70 Firebird Formula 400. Guess which one we kept for 20 years. When the signal light turned yellow the Firebird blew on through (plenty of time)... with the Chevette I would floor it and then just brake and stop. |

Here are two showing the blue entry tower frame and inside framing. You can also see test colors painted on the front of the steel.

What do you all think of this? The pic is of the old dealership name painted on the wall circa 1965. The wall then became an inside wall when the parts department was added on. I was thinking of having it duplicated and painting it on the block wall in the new store at the top of the stairs. Customers wouldn't see it unless they came up, so it doesn't really get seen much , but it kind of ties us back to the old store.
