Question So what is the difference between wheel construction types??

I'm trying to figure out the difference between 1/2/3-pieced wheels, as well as forged vs. other things. I can't seem to find the info on wikipedia or in this forum via a search.

What's the most durable rim?
What's lightest of the wheel construction types?
What's the best racing wheel type?

I don't need to know brands, but just trying to figure out what type of wheels I should be looking for. I really like deep dish on wheels, but I'm pretty sure it's counterproductive if I take it to the track.

I might end up going with a set for cruising and a seperate set to take to the track.

Thanks!

Thanks GTO.

@ COR, I was looking to find out all the terminology behind wheels. Why people prefer modular forged over cast wheels. What pieces are in a 1 piece, 2 piece and 3 piece forged wheel.

The one question that I still have left is, does anyone make a lightweight forged wheel with a lip that's 3"+?
