heavy v6 vs lighter v8 =failure
compare v8 vs v8 The mustang will take it off the line and in the top end too only because it has a v8 and is lighter. |

Yeah,
The Mustang GT's are pretty fast. They are very capable of mid to high 13s. From what I've been reading the V6 Camaro will most likely be a mid to high 14 sec car. That's not to say a V6 Camaro can't suprise a GT and beat it. But drivers being equal, the Mustang GT will have a decent advantage over the V6 Camaro. |

i think the v6 will be more 14.5 mabey less with good driving
but as posted in another thread with the 3.6 DI intake and exhaust added 31whp /w out a tune. now thats power that will probably take a GT.

The V6 Camaro will not run mid 13s (there's no way). With 300hp and 3800 lbs it will run up in the 14s in the 1/4 mile. The V8 Camaro (in testing - from what I've read) run low 13s. |

Depends on which Mustang GT.
If it's a 95-96-97, KILL HIM! Especially if it's some cocky ass little ricer with Flowmasters and dumps on his "mighty" 215 hp 4.6 automatic. This version of a ricer is easy to spot. He'll have both Cobra badges and Nissan GT-R badges on his fender. He'll try to tell you that his car is a Cobra but lacks the Cobra domed hood. He'll roar through an amazingly mediocre 9.9 second eighth mile and then tell you, "There must be something wrong with my turbos....I ran 4 seconds last week. Maybe I need some more noss." YOU MUST KILL HIM FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY |

The GTO with 400hp and a weight of 3700 lbs runs low to mid 13s. It is possible a V6 Camaro could run high 13s (in excellent conditions) but 14s are more likely. My quess is most Testing will show mid 14s or so for the V6 Camaro. |

i've been told that the GTO had issues of some sort and got housed by the GT... if that is true and the camaro gets the same treatment i'll be very disappointed...

I've never heard that. The GTO is faster than the GT and everyone knows that. In every test I've ever seen the GTO has run faster than the GT. Most magazines have the GTO running 13.3s @ 107 mph or so, which is several tenths faster than the GT. |
