As far as I know it just has to be DOT approved... No rollcage required

I'm sure if you make a 10 sec pass a roll cage will be required... Trying to find out what those limits are..

...and at what time do you have to have a helmet? 13.5 or faster..

All I have is a CAI and a tune- no 10 second passes for me

Wouldn't rules like that require qualifying runs etc? I have no track experience, I guess I just assumed everyone would need a helmet. Allan already has his, and I'm pretty sure he's mostly stock as well...

Needed a DOT3 helmet for autocross at C5fest-I. For drag strip, they did not require a helmet.... but that was Georgia, Arizona may have different set of rules. If you can find a DOT3 you should be good to go. The group that set up the auto cross did have some extra helmets for members to use. Might be the same at Firebird. I'm bringing 2 helmets incase I have someone in the passenger seat!

I'm not putting a cage in my car yet. If I'm able to get any traction on my street tires and make a low run and get parked then so be it. I'll still enjoy watching and talking with people. I will get a helmet and try to find a jacket though. Was actually shopping for a helmet last night and found one that I really liked.

I never thought I would do a cage but the one Russ has now is sweet... just a 4 pt that you don't even notice. It's upolstered like the interior w/ orange stitching too.

Where did you find the helmet... I'm looking at a G-Force one

Russ' is nice and I would do something like that in a heartbeat, but I don't have that kind of funds right now. I'm sure it was a couple thousand for that.

I'll PM you a link.

Camaro21 ran low low 12's all day long at the first fest and never wore a helmet! But go on motorcycle superstore.com and go in the closeouts! May can find one for $30 or $40! As long as u gotta head cover they want say anything!

I'm all stock. But it's required for the Pfadt track attack. So, I just got the cheapest one I could get. It just depends on what you are doing. You might not need one for the 1/4 mile.
