I've been stuck in Chicago for the past few days because of the "storm of historical proportions" and for a Louisiana boy, 24" of snow and 50 mph winds were brutal (but I was inside a "snotel.") I was hoping I could have been marooned a few more days to sneak to the Chicago Auto show to see the new Chevy Camaro based performance edition.....couldn't stretch it out though! I hope our Camaro5 colleagues post pics and details quickly....waiting on a Z28 for three years now.

I'm expecting to see an LS? powered 4 door sedan, RWD.. close the G8 GXP, but with a bowtie badge... probably something to compete with the Charger. Thats my speculation, however would like to the "New" Camaro.. whatever it be.

I'll throw my speculation in here since there's one thing no-one has mentioned yet....

The introduction of the next Synergy Series Camaro, the timing would be just about perfect for that announcement. Just a WAG though

I suspect you are trying to mislead us by dismissing the Buick theory ...

How did Buick get involved? Perhaps I threw out a wild guess for an alternative to the Z28 theory?

I am just confused/surprised by GM's timing. It was just a year or so ago that GM would not release replica 2009 Indy 500 Pace Cars for fear it would undermined Transformers and Synergy sales and they almost did not release 2010 Pace Cars for the same type of reason. With the 2011 Pace Car announcement just out of the news bag; GM is flirting with a new Camaro announcement.... I though the next Indy Pace Car was going to be the Z28 vert but for the 2012 Indy 500. This announcement, if it is the Z28 only makes sense if it is for 2012, but that would not be typical of GM to announce so far in advance.

Mislead? Me? Noooo. More like a bucket of cold water You know, Captain Buzz Kill and all.

Who knows, maybe someone will read these Buick rumors and there will be another RWD Buick in the world.

And I just assume every Buick post starts with Fenwick somehow, somewhere. But Buick enthusiasm is a good thing. So I will at least try to warm the bucket of water a bit.

I can't believe we're talking about Buick. Wow, the automotive industry has changed. I saw the Regal GS in person this year at the DC autoshow.... it's impressive.

The Chevy G8/Caprice/whatever rumor still isn't dead. Maybe there's a reason for that.....
