Silly Question - Seating position - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My brother used to own a MY1999 Camaro RS V6. I'll be honest and say that I never really liked that car. I always thought that the seating position was atrocious in that car - too low and I'm 5'11".

What has my interest in the V8. Ever since I drove a few GTO's last year I have been completely smitten by the 6.0L engine with a 6 speed manual. I had to drop the GTO from consideration due to its impracticality: fear of parts shortages from Australia, 1/2 sized trunk due to the gas tank, and the seat motors needed to gain access to the rear seats. I could still consider a used GTO in the future as a toy, but the lack of parts availability still worry me.

Enter the new Camaro. Should I expect discomfort and visibility similar to that of the Camaro IV or something better/different?

For me the GTO fit like a glove. Even the Mustang is fine; though the 4.6l doesn't hold a candle versus either the LS1 or the LS2 of the GTO.

The seating position in the camaro will be closer to the current mustang than the 4th gen.

4th Gen was, for/to me, the absolute perfect seating position. I loved it.

I just hope the 5th Gen isn't TOO upright (I've never sat in a current Mustang). I like to sit low, not like I'm at the kitchen table.
