AFM is the worst!! I noticed it as soon as I got my SS with the stock exhaust. I'm not looking forward to hearing it after I add my Corsa. I see a tune in my near future!

when I first purchased my car L99 A6 I didn't notice AFM kicking in or out, brought
Solo "J" pipes axle back system sounded very nice, but AFM really sounded bad.
So bad that I put the stock exhaust back on, after doing that I can still hear AFM as
now I know what to listen for, it's not as bad as it is with the Solo pipes though.
So if I have to listen to that stupid AFM I might as well put the Solo exhaust back on as it sounds so much better than stock and then sometime down the road get a tune, or use the tapshift all the time to deactivate the AFM.
Another GM wonder.

Ok I can honestly say I don't like it. Having it put back to stock. Sounds is great until AFM kicks in.

I have no intentions of tuning, not an option.

Did you find it raspy sounding? What's the sound do when the AFM does kick in?

Not answering for nyrfan. But from my experience I remember the low bogging and farting noises that were really irritating at lower speeds. Like when cruising thru town at around 35 mph. When you give it gas to pick up speed it farts and goes back into 8 cylinder mode. Then when you are just cruising and maintaining a speed. It kicks into 4 cyl. mode and a low bogging sound comes from the exhaust. The noises are there at highway speeds also, but at higher speeds everything is a little louder so the AFM noises get a little less. Especially with the windows down or radio up. But with windows up and radio off. The noises are very noticeable. Raspy sounds were and are not a problem with my corsa.

Have you tried the shifting up to third and back down to first while sitting still? Mine never seems to kick on AFM when I do that.

As you can see some can live with it, I know it the long run I could not. Like I said it sounded GREAT until AFM, then all bets were off for me.

So this system is up for sale, it literally has 5 miles on it. PM me if anyone in interested, I'll sell it for $900 shipped OBO.

Do you notice the AFM now that you went back to stock ? Mine drives me nuts but not going to tune already had to have new diff installed.
