Advice, if you're driving your car very little, get a battery tender charger - regardless of make / model / year
It was corrected before the 2006 Corvettes came out, ain't no way it is going to be an issue on the 2010 Camaro, sheesh...

I always park in first gear and never use the emergency brake in my 08 C6 and its never drained the battery.

Like I said earlier GM figured out consumers hated the reverse gear /emergency brake nonsense...that they did away with it in 2006. I'd be really surprised if GM put this feature on any car ever again..

Park it in first gear with or without the emergency brake is my suggestion. (unless the owners manual says otherwise.)

I still just don't understand how it was a feature? Like what was the benefit of this feature? What was it called?

Its more like a no parking penalty!

+1, 2005 C6's were like that, but they fixed it for 2006. Consumers didn't like it. I think GM learned and I doubt it will ever be on another GM product again.

my '06 C6 WILL drain the battery in a month (any gear - not required to put into reverse) if it is not on the charger -

'05 vettes had to be in reverse (DIC would tell you also) - the computers drain the battery very quickly because of the electronics (looking for fob's and sensors and whatever else needs to be running while parked)

if the Camaro looks for the same kinds of things it may also drain the battery after a while (hope a least a few months)

could be the dealer cars were sitting a long time before they got them.....

Well on my GTO I leave it in 1st and my Dad leaves his 06 Z06 in neutral w/ parking brake.

Never have had any battery problems.

Sounds to me like the dealer was just plain WRONG.
He must have been thinking of the vette issue.
I tried to tell them I had not heard of this on the Camaro. I was sure if it did this I would have already heard about it on Camaro5. The best place for Camaro news and info.
I should go back and tell that salesman he is full of it. I think that would be a waist of time. Something tells me he would never belive me.
