Need some advice for buying my car

I'm planning on buying a 2012. I was originally going to get a CGM 2LT but you know... so now im leaning towards either an imperial blue OR a 45th anniversary edition.
The problem is, i'm 18 years old. And no, I'm not a spoiled teen who's parents buy the car for me. I am buying this with my own money and so my question is, does someone like me need a 45th anniversary? I was looking forward to doing some mods on my Camaro such as exhaust, intake, and i wanted to put a black chevy emblem on my CGM. First off, that wouldnt look good on an imperial blue and second, i think it would ruin the value of the 45th more than just a standard car. What do you guys think i should do?

None of us NEED a Camaro of any sort. It's more do you WANT a 45th anniversary edition? Also, consider this, are you buying the car for you to enjoy or as an investment?

I say, it's going to be your car. Make it your own. Mod it any way YOU like.

As you are young (note, I did not say "immature," I said "young") I hope your financial situation in order. I hope you have saved a considerable amount of money and that you have your college education expenses taken care of. I see a lot of young folks making the mistake of getting in over their heads and wishing later that they had not.

Good luck with your decision.

The real question is do you want the options avaiable on the 45th pack? What about it appeals to you? Do you think that appeal is worth the extra $$$$ financed?

What's you time frame for purchase becasue you can't get IBM right now. It will be back when the CGM replacement is available.

The next question is do you need/want a 2LT? What's wrong with a LS or 1LT? I just worry about your college "friends" not respecting your leather interior like you may.

Probably the smartest thing I have ever heard a 18 year old kid say on C5.

It's about the same as getting the RS package, but you get the 45th stuff on it.

I'm going to go order it on my birthday, December 10th. And I'm sorry, I'm not an expert on these acronyms yet. What's IBM? I really want leather, and screw my college friends, they aren't getting in my Camaro AND, i have enough money to buy myself a 2LT. I hate cloth. And Boston acoustic speakers, HUD, Leather seats, all sound pretty cool to me

If you're 18 and you plan on letting any of your friends in the car/driving it every day, instead of leaving it covered in a garage for 30 years, don't worry about any mods (including changing delals/bowties) reducing the value. It's just a car and if you plan on using it, the value will decline regardless. These cars are only investments if you can afford to not drive it... For a long time.

What do you mean "put a black chevy emblem on it"? Where?

I have matte black stripes on my IBM (see sig) and it looks great!
