I know a local has done a huge ice/water tank, dual meth, and other upgrades. He still has IAT issues. Probably going to swap for twin turbos. Make more power and no IAT issues.

let me ask you what are you using to liquid cool the blower, are you using engine coolant or intercooler fluid?
Im under the impression that the blower gets very hot and needs to use engine coolant to liquid cool the blower, keeping the intercooler fluid to simply cool the inlet charge temp. On the other hand, this is exactly why I stayed away from a Kennebell. I chose the KDI super HUGE heat exchanger and 29gpm intercooler pump. Those two things, plus the Lingenfelter intercooler resevoir tank should come a long way at cooling those things down. I remember my inlet temps going up to 215 on my turbo car when there was something wrong with it, it certainly didnt peg at 190. Please get back to my post, I really wanna find out the whole KB heat issue

you did not answer my question correctly, what are you using to liquid cool the blower, engine coolant or intercooler fluid regardless of what the mixture is. Im asking because I know that it could be done both ways but there is sort of a right way and a wrong way of doing it?

The higher the percentage of water, the better the heat transfer, but then you loose the protective properties of antifreeze. So thats where a water wetter additive comes in and it also enhances the heat transfer proerties of the water. If in a freezing temps climate then you need the antifreeze.
Make you a deal, send the car here for our RX Super Chiller and then watch your IAT's. You wont be disapointed. |

the more i read of those KenneBells the more i wonder how they are still in business with all those complaints, I cannot find a single person that doesnt have high inlet temps with a kennebell that actually knows what are inlet temps and how to log them. Youd think they would have cured this problem ages ago, the liquid cooling technology is just a bandaid for a very poorly designed blower.
While something like the super chiller would work it doesnt solve the MAIN reason for such high inlet temps under boost. I would have loved to go with a kennebell 3.6 over the whipple 4.0 since id be able to fit it under the ZL1 hood and not have to modify anything on the car for the blower to fit, but I decided to go the harder way because it was the "right" way. There was a huge KB inlet temp thread tht went on forever, I remember reading every post on there where the KB employee was trying to help but what could he do, go back to the drawing board kennebell.

Do you think the KB has higher IAT's because it makes more power lb for lb than the competitors. More hp = more heat?

I dont think this is the issue as the KB does not make the power they claim in the first place. I dont have an answer to the heat issues but I know of 6 or more people I have spoken to at the races with them and absolutely despise them and are very disappointed. Its the best looking blower but just too many issues.
