To those wondering about the naming issue with SLP, GM resolved it before we even thought of it.

The steering wheel, looks like you can't please everyone. The current wheel is unique but people complained that you couldn't grip it, and now they change it to something more conventional and now people are complaining that it isn't unique

I don't care about the name, one way or the other. I was fine with Z28, I'm fine with ZL1. I don't think either one fits a supercharged Camaro, but its not all that important.

Getting past all that, it is going to be an awesome car. No doubt about it.

Now I'm just guessing here but it seems to me that there will be more name plates for the Camaro.

So to take on the Boss Mustang, maybe GM will build a Z28;lighter with lots of suspension upgrade or even a strip down version of the SS with more natural horsepower.

Who knows...with all this speculation that was going before this announcement, maybe now there will be more speculation that a Z28 version will come out. Way to keep us in the dark GM.

I agree with SSCamaroZ28 and I'm not new to the brand (having owned: 1967, 1976, 1977, 1982, 2010). ZL1 doesn't have the same appeal as Z28.

I'll take hard plastic over suede any day. It adds more to the interior and makes it more interesting to look at. The steering wheel is my biggest concern, not ugly by any means, just looks a little out of place. That may be just because I'm used to seeing the "deep dish" steering wheel the Camaro currently has.

ZL1 makes sense to me. It has heritage and makes more sense if you ask me. It also reminds me of the ZR1 as well. They may be trying to keep the names similar because they are both high performance cars under the same brand.

In any case, that is one sexy beast. And hopefully we get all the numbers on it soon. Hoepfully it hits up the MN Autoshow....(Fat chance, I know)
