1/8th of a tank. Car was 'Certified Used' (which was then reneged when the dealership fubar'd the paperwork). Probably wind up changing that pump early due to excessive wear..

Its a common gesture of courtesy from a dealer. Its a nice thing that a car dealer can do, but not all of them do this. I remember at least one new car occasion where I didn't get a full tank of gas. Ehhh...

When I picked up my new 2011 at the dealership, full tank.

Short story: Pre-ordered my 2011 mid May 2010, delivered early Aug. Took just short of 90 days for me to receive delivery, exact time dealer told me when I ordered. About early June, dealer called me and offered me the free use of a 2010 demo Camaro for a week because I was so patient waiting for my auto to arrive. Decided to take him up on the offer and even the demo was delivered to me with a full tank. I only drove it for a day, just to enjoy it, then returned it to the dealer. Before, I returned it I topped off the tank. A few days later dealer emailed me saying he noticed I topped of the gas, come by the dealership and he would reimburse me on the gas I paid for. Off course I never took him up on his offer to reimburse me for the fuel I used.

Been buying new autos since 1970, all new cars delivered with a full tank. Most new autos I bought I ordered to get them my way. In all the past years buying new autos my current Camaro was the best sales and service experience I ever had from a new car dealership.

When my car came in, I drove from the showroom floor, straight to the gas station, and filled it up with 93 octane myself! Awesome experience, I'll never forget! Thanks, Brian Harris Chevrolet!!!

THIS!

I worked for a dealer years ago and I was told every new car had to be topped off, even after test drives when someone bought it because of the reimbursement from the manufacturer.

Now used cars they can do whatever they want with but I still think it's a slap in the face to let someone pick up a "new to them" car and not have a full tank.

Honestly I have been buying cars for 30+ years. I don't ever remember not getting a full tank of gas. Even the few times that I have bought used from a dealer they were full also.

Do you guys really think the cars come from the assembly line with premium? If you do, I have a bridge for sale.

When I bought my Nissan Frontier back in '08 new from a Nissan dealer, they tried to get me to leave the lot with it with the low fuel light on. They finally gave in and had a salesman take it to put a quarter tank in. Thanks guys.

When I bought my Camaro (CPO, from Chevy dealer), I think it had about a half tank in it.

All 3 new cars Ive bought included a full tank. I never even asked. I just figured that was normal. Guess not. Seems kind of shady to sell a car and not include a full tank of gas.
