Head gaskets don't dry out. They can fail, though.
The car has only one fuel tank, but if you look underneath the car it is what's known as a saddle tank. It "straddles" the driveshaft in a way. It would be one regular fuel tank and since the driveshaft goes through that area they had to make sure there was enough clearance from the driveshaft.
What is the fix for the lifter issue?
Good luck with it. Hope they get it back to you soon.

But, the easiest way to ruin a car is to leave it outside in the Florida weather and never drive it. Remember, this car is at least a year old, and been sitting on the lot all that time
You answered your own question. Head Gaskets can fail, but they cannot dry rot. They're not rubber.

I go to the dealership on Monday...We'll see what happens. I'm bringing two mechanically inclined friends with me to help diffuse the BS that they will inevitably tell me. Thanks so much for all of the information. I'll let you know how it ends up! By the way, as of now the car is all stock. I've only had it 3 weeks. I'm weighing my options as to which mods to make first, but at this point I want it to run right before I put more $$$ into it. :o) Thanks again for all of the help! I really miss my baby...

If you have white smoke , it's probably coolant getting into a cylinder. And since you have a rough engine, that may indicate a bad cylinder. The dealer should be able to do a leak down check of the cylinders to see which one is low. They could also pressure check the cooling system too.

I apologize for the delay of an update on my part....:o(

They replaced the lifters with "newly designed" ones and also replaced the head gasket. All is well. No more billowing white smoke from the exhaust. I absolutely LOVE this car. Can't even explain it. :o) I'm sure some of you all can understand. Next on the list is new exhaust(Borla Attack) and cold air intake(not sure which one yet)...Then we'll see from there....SuperCharge maybe?!?! ;o) Am I on the right track?
