Saying goodbye...for now
After 3 1/2 years and two kick ass Camaros (2011 2LT RS and 2013 2SS RS), it's time to say goodbye to the Camaro for now. I have a 4 month old son and the Camaro just wasn't practical anymore, as much as I wanted it to be. So, I'm getting rid of the Camaro and picking up a 2015 Grand Cherokee tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for all the great advice, mod ideas, general help and tips over the last few years. It's helped make the permagrin even bigger. I hope to be back at some point in the future...maybe another Camaro or perhaps a C7 (or maybe C10 by the time I can afford one!). I'm sure I'll be lingering around to keep up on things, especially that new 2016 model. |

Thanks for hanging around!
Enjoy the little one. The investment in your son will pay off 100% more than a investment in a Camaro. Take care.

Congrats on the kid. This is why my wife will always drive a truck with a back seat, and I will always have my camaro.

Your Camaro days will return someday. Sorry you have to give it up for now but... family first! You are being a responsible father/husband. Best wishes for a happy and healthy family!

congrats on the boy. too bad you cant keep the camaro and still have the Jeep too. i have 2 cars, a SUV Envoy and camaro. the envoy is the more practicable car. however, when my son was born and an infant, i had him in a car seat in the back of my 98 Firebird. it was tight quarters, but it worked.

The infant stage passes so quickly. Once they get out of the infant seat and into a front facing car seat life with the Camaro gets much easier. I have two Camaros BTW and a 20 month old. I actually find it easier to get the kid into and out of the Camaros than in and out of my LaCrosse. The doors on the LaCrosse are just too small. But to each his own. Enjoy the new Jeep!

I did the same thing.....lasted 6 months. Wish I would have kept the original. Now I have an extra 2 years of payments. Haha. Live and learn I guess. Congrats.

Congrats on the child OP, we made the ultimate switch to a minivan when we had our daughter! I'll be perfectly honest though (here comes the flaming lol), when it comes to traveling, getting a kid in and out, and convenience all around, I absolutely love that minivan!! Between all the power sliding doors and hatch, automatic stow and go seating, and the tv/dvd screens and headphones for the back seats, it makes life a lot easier. And I'm still building a street/strip S10 in my spare time to burn some rubber with, and getting my daughter into the whole car scene
Awesome!!! |

Thanks everyone...appreciate all the well wishes! Yeah it's totally worth it for this little guy. It's just a car....and I can always get another down the road. He's a small baby, so I feel like he'll be in the rear facing for close to two years, so I think it's a smart move for now. I'm actually looking forward to 4WD and the extra space for hauling stuff around.
I ended up not getting the Jeep today. There was a problem on the buyer's end with my lease swap and it may take a few more weeks to go through. Hoping things get finalized in soon! |
