Game on Sledge that you see at the 9/10'o'clock position on your screen, may whip you into oblivion. And that applies to all of you as well, lol. |

I made 368rwhp before the converter, ditching the cats, and doing the gears, I might be a bit more but surely <400rwhp. and I ran 12.0 with 368rwhp. if you run high 11's with 700rwhp well, I went 9.40 with 680rwhp with a past car.

Impressive time again, but, you were running DR's or slicks and an automatic will be faster most of the times than a manual. Also, sounds like you have experience and plenty of seat time at the drags. I think the op, just as myself, would like to achieve 12.0's with street tires for overall performance in acceleration, cornering and drivability.

....indeed
Time to update this, and btw, thanks to everyone who replied, my most fav thread. I will be installing a custom spec'd Cam-Motion cam myself(yes DIY), ironically with the help of Camaro500, and I say ironically because he is my competition, lol. The cam was spec'd out after explaining in detail over the phone, essentially what this thread has been all about. It may be a smaller cam than some of you may have expected, but I'm convinced it will serve it's purpose well(pointing back to post #20 when my real intentions came to light ). I'd like to post the cam spec numbers I'm about to splurge on, but I'm not entirely sure if that's considered OK, so I'll ask first, although I think it's OK? Made it a point that the the valve train be stout enough and durable for the long haul, with 1-2 road courses per year. It is a 1LE after all, and hence my ultimate decision to stay NA for weight and balance, was ultimately factored in. Still sticking with the minimum $$$$ game plan (thanks to Camaro500 again) and so far so good, this bolt-on car is responding very well! All that will remain after this cam install, is either that Vararam or MSD intake manifold, then done (I think). |

Basic Compulsory Engine Parts List For Cam Installation
So in keeping with the original theme on a cost effective power plan vs my goals, and very happy it's going right according to plan for the first time in my life , I'm about to consequently order all the parts listed below, and install this cam from the comforts of my home, nice n slow, nice n easy, it's is my first cam install after all!
I need your help, to make sure I get this done in one go, so that I don't "have to run out to the store again" if you know what I mean? First, let's mention what I'M NOT installing. No Oil Pump, and No Timing Chain, meaning I'll keep those stock. Engine parts For Cam Install as follows: -Cam Motion 216/600/224/580/116+3 -BTR Spring Kit (Springs, Retainers, Locks, Spring Seats, Seals) -Pushrods -Trunion Kit for Rockers -ARP Crank Bolt -Front cover gasket -Valve cover gaskets -Front crank seal ......? Straight highway I think I still get close to 20, like on a trip or something. 19-20. My average is like 15-16 or something with a lot of highway and some city driving. Its a daily driver. Driveability is great, no issues there. It does use more gas than before, but its a tradeoff I'm okay with. The lope of a cam changes your life haha. These were my three best slips. With the mods in my sig, street tires, stock rims, and Texas may weather. I am definitely proud of the car. Its hard being on C5 and having these guys throw up slips with a bolt ons only car that has slicks, skinnies, weight reduction, gears, and a stall putting up really low 11's. But that kind of stuff is atypical, had perfect track prep, perfect weather, etc. With my setup, any car and any driver can go out on 85 degree, humid-ish day and run high 11's on stock tires, with halfway decent track prep. Thats what I love about it. I was amazed to have beaten a couple ZL1s. |

Good runs man. I'm aiming for 11's too after I get my cam. It'll be hard to do with a m6 on street tires stock clutch axles and driveshaft

Your numbers on the track have been an inspiration for me sir. I've decided on a goal. I'm going to shoot for 120 trap speed, bolt-on/cammed car, with smart weight reduction, hopefully that Vararam or MSD intake manifold coming out soon will help me achieve this goal. |

I went 11.90 with all the seats in the car and 215's up front on 17x7s. Lighter than stock fronts, but I was trying to make the most of 370rwhp SI.
I did heads and cam 2 weeks ago. Going for 10.99. All the seats in the car. No slicks. Just drag radials that I'll roll on all summer.
