Movement Normal?

Backing into park a club event I heard a loud clacking noise. Upon getting home and tracking it down, it was the custom "beauty" caps I had put on. Having my wife crank the steering wheel I noticed what is in the video below. When I removed the Beauty caps, the clacking stopped, as they were rubbing against the car.

My club is leaning on the this is normal side, But I'm OCD and paranoid when it comes to my baby. Opinions appreciated.

On some applications certain strut dress caps will interfere with either the strut brace or bottom out on the tower. Either get a different set that will alleviate the issue or modify the ones you have.

Thanks for the reply... so the movement shown in the video is perfectly normal? That's the answer I'm really looking for and based on what you are saying sounds like it may be.

Thanks, I was really worried lol. Had images of my tires flying off and passing an old lady on the free way as I slid into the center divide. Yes active imagination

There is a guy on here that machines some dress caps for the strut ends. He makes two types. One that fits over the entire end and affords movement clearance between the cap and tower, and one that just fits the top inside dimension for those with strut brace clearance issues. A search would help you find it. Check the vendor area. I could do it for you but at the moment I'm too lazy.

Here ya' go
