Hm, wouldn't be surprised if something very similar to that ends up in the 6th Gen Camaro as well.

Since this is the third time this has popped up on the site, I'll use the same reply for a 3rd time:

In other words, don't assume their info is correct.

If you consider Corvette Racing's current GT racing exploits utilize a 5.5 Liter V8, the "grain of truth", here, is not a stretch...

With DI and other technological improvements, the stats sound about right. And a "302" 5.0L version for the next-Gen lighter Camaro would be cool...Mustang be damned...

Guys I think your mistaken if you think the 6th Gen camaros will be out anytime before 2020. This engine will simply be put into a "freshened up" 5th Gen. It might have a slightly different look to it but it'll still be a 5th Gen

Reports indicate that the Camaro will be switching to Alpha platform 2015ish. And new platform = new generation. And plenty of GM's recent products only seem to have had around a 5 year life span before getting a redesign.

Wow. That certainly goes against what mustang and camaro have done in history. Usually a "total" redesign is every 10 years which equals a new generation.

But I guess if it makes sense to GM to do it in 2015 then more power to them

Glad it's a pushrod engine. I don't believe the HP figures. The sooner the new Corvette arrives the better, and the sooner the next Camaro arrives the better, preferably in a smaller lighter car.

If the V8 is too much, buy a V6

Nothing was announced that I am aware of. Motor Trend is speculating. So now we have rumor based on speculation.

Always fun to do though.

They have been saying that since the 60's, hence why the '69 ZL1 Camaros were underrated from the factory.
