concerned with your warranty if you mod your car?

dont be.....just find yourself an extra computer from a dealer or other vendors that might be able to get them. tune the one you purchase and keep the factory as a back up incase something happens and then swap them out. simple solution if you have the extra cash and still want to keep your warranty. just thought id give you guys some ideas seeing how everytime i read a thread there is always someone concerned what will happen. if you have the money to mod your car, you have the money to purchase another computer.

Also GM will know you switched the PCM's. This worked on the 4th gen's not on the 5th.

Or just accept that the tune voids the warranty, man up, and pay for the repair.

I do not know for sure but I am pretty sure that the ECMs are coded to your specific car, they are not as interchangable as most would think from what I have heard. May be wrong, no expert by any means but I would be suprised if its as easy as just swapping out one for another.

It's my understanding you need to purchase the computer from a dealer, which in turn, the dealer needs your VIN number.

Bingo, doesn't work and it lacks integrity. Not trying to troll but I hate posts like this. "Return my Car to stock" "How can I hide my mods" For every post complaining that GM did something wrong looks like there's a hundred guys out there trying to cheat them. If you made a change that voided your warranty then you voided your warranty, anything else is lying and theft. This is the reason some people who never did anything have such a hard time getting warranty work done.

I hate hearing Voided your Warranty - If you get a tune it will remove parts of your car from warranty but not all. Let's say a power window motor dies you are still under warranty for that part as well as all the other parts that are not damaged by increased power.
