Vortech Intake Pipe

Has anyone had problems with their intake pipe collapsing? We had one on our YSI equipped car and it suddenly lost power, after checking everything out we noticed the filter was loose as a goose with the pipe flat as a pancake. We took the entire pipe off and put the filter directly on to the blower and MAN what a difference in power at least 40 rwhp (yes its feel like that much) chime in if you had experienced this before thanks.

We have installed a whole bunch of these and have not seen this, if you think the pipe is defective I will get another one headed your way.

Yes this happens. I just watched a video on another forum that showed a turbo setup and they found this out also that at high boost it collapsed the intake tube. I know the shop that posted it was National Speed and Jordan is the guy that gave all the info on it.

We tried the sleeve and it still don't perform as well as the straight filter. It's a seat of the pants difference, were staying straight filter from now on.

I guess I will have to test this on the dyno the next time I get a chance with a YSI.
