Hoping for under < 50, if not will just go with tons of aftermarket mods for my SS.
No way will it be under 50. I see $50k as the minimum starting point.

has had it for a few years. In the Vette it is the F55 option. Switch allows you to change the suspension. i.e Touring or Sport. I have it on my C6 and I believe it is stock on the ZR1

This reminds me of a great Shakespeare line, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."

regardless what it is called It will be a beast of a machine, a hell of a ride, Mustang Dominator, and I can't wait for it to become a convertible

What he said

It makes sense to leave the more agile, nimble and lighter alpha platform for the true Z/28 name. After all, it is supposed to be more of a road-race car than just a heavy cruiser. A smart move by GM, if you ask me.

ZL1 sort of make sense. That was for sure the BIG DOG of first gens. Also I imagine this new supercharged Camaro will have somewhat limited production like the original ZL1's, but not near as limited of course.

And those 45th anniversary "carbon flash color with all black interior and unique wheels", if those wheels are dark colored doesn't that just sound like a black panther waiting to pounce on and devour something like say a Mustang?!?!??!?
Z/28 was available as a 67'

I'm sure things at GM are changing based on competition in the marketplace. They need a top dog Camaro to win the Muscle Car Wars. ZL1 maybe ZL2? It will reign supreme, probably high $50's my guess. But the Z28 is for the so called masses, it should be more affordable. I like the idea of a super Camaro, but I'll buy an affordable Z28.

Yea, I believe in this theory. I think GM will introduce a smaller V8 (5 liter) DOHC in the Z-28. Maybe the Gen6 car isn't too far off.

Based on simply reading magazines like Motor Trend, Autoweek etc it appears IMHO I agree with some posters that with suspension it appears to be a CTS-V version muscle car. My question is wouldn't that likely make it to MSRP in the 55,000-60,000 range? (esp if an automatic version is an option). Seems like 45,000-50,000 seems low...

If you think about this it really makes alot of sense now. This new 2012 High HP Editon is going to be named something else & will be the competitor to the Shelby GT500 & the new Z/28 will eventually come out & be what it is suppossed to be a Boss 302 killer that carves through tracks with ease. We may not see the Z/28 until the beginning of the new lighter chassis in 2014. I just don't want to see this new HP Edition Camaro to get beat by the Shelby I have a feeling the Shelby will be producing 600hp by the time this is released in 1-1-2012.

I'm with you 100% with enjoying our Camaros...mine is a yr round daily driver...I don't have a spare car to drive in the winter

That being said, we purchased snow tires and 18" wheels last winter, so this is my 2nd winter with the Camaro

If I couldn't drive my Camaro all yr long, I wouldn't be able to do any 'smiley dances' :(

Fortunately, that's not the case, so I'm happy every time I get behind the wheel and turn the key to the happiest car I have ever owned and driven IN MY LIFE!!!

I wouldn't sell mine for all the money in the world, because my HWAY STR means way more to me than money...it is irreplaceable to 'this fan' for too many reasons to list on here right now...just trust me on this

Your right! This new car has the most mileage than any of our other camaros! we have so much fun driving this car! we would never sell our car, we would just add to the fleet!

Maybe they should call this GT500 fighter the Panther Performance Camaro ZL-1 or something along those lines. I think it would be kool to have a Panther emblem on the Bow Tie & on the back of the car like where the SS & RS emblems are right now. I think another manufacturer has the rights to the ZL-1 name right now if im not mistaken though.

Yeah they should call this the Panther Performance Camaro and have a panther emblem on the front grill where the SS & RS emblems go & on the back of the car. This along with the more agressive hood & body would make it stand out more than an SS.
