How did you order your ZL1?

Right now my dealer just got an allocation today. I put in my order like this, for now:

Crystal Red Tintcoat, Exposed Carbon Fiber Hood Insert, Polished Wheels

I have a little while until my order is finalized and can't be changed.

I am waiting for him to get back to me on stripe color options. I don't want black stripes maybe silver or gray would go with the Exposed Carbon fiber, if available?

I also was up in the air about the microsuede interior accent package, my concern is that it wears out over the short time I own the car, or atleast worse than the leather interior. But I may change my mind.

The only other changes I would make is the exterior color. If I change the color it would be to Inferno Orange Metallic or Ashen Gray Metallic, all the other options would stay the same. I would lean to Ashen Gray Metallic because of the exposed hood insert.

Any thoughts?

And those that are ordereing, how did you order your ZL1?

if exposed CF hood you can get a stripe package. the stripe will be a dark gray to match the exposed CF hood

There's been a lot of discussion about the suede package and the consensus is that it holds up pretty good. There are CTS-Vs out there from 09 and their suede still looks good with upkeep.

so what you are saying is that they made special dark gray stripes in the event someone orders a exposed hood insert and orders a stripe package?

Not to answer for him and maybe he will shed some more light but yes, from what I understand, there is a different color stripe for the exposed cf hood. I've heard that people were having a hard time finding it when ordering but that may have been resolved by now.

If you order the exposed carbon fiber insert w/stripes you will get the dark gray stripe to go with it.
If you order the black insert w/ stripes, you get the black stripes with it.

I think I am going to go without the stripe and suede accent options. In fact I may heavily considering staying with the standard black 10 spoke wheels and making the exposed carbon fiber insert my only option, outside the Crystal Red Tintcoat paint option, if I stick with CRT, b/c Ashen Gray Metallic is really making it a tough decision though!

I will probably order mine on Saturday. The dealer has an allocation of 1 and since I was the only one to inquire, I guess I’ll get it. He didn’t even know that they could be ordered.
That’s the good news. The bad…
He says I can’t order the Crystal Red. That is the only color that I really want. Second choice (only because my GTO is almost the same color) is Victory Red with black stripes.
Price will be MSRP. I know that I’m getting screwed, but it’s the best that I can find.

Well it gets even better. The dealer just called to inform me that there are no allocations as of yet. None avail nationally. Orders may have been placed? but none have been picked up by GM. There are no releases for picked up nationally. So I am nowhere.

When we were doing the ordering phase yesterday Crystal Red is not a ZL1 color, according to the dealer.

your dealer is an idiot, no offense. but it has been stated very clearly that every available camaro color will be offered across the board on every model. Crystal Red replaced Red Jewel and is offered. Find a new dealer is my advice. I have Crystal Red on order, but may be switching it to Ashen Gray shortly.

Well from my understanding the Ashen Grey and the Crystal Red are not on the work bench order site yet. However hopefully over the next month or so this will change and be able to order those two colors. Remember even if you get up to status #3100 on your order, you have the ability to change your options. There are a number of people ordering a ZL1 on this forum that
have picked a differant color then those two, so that they can start the process. Then once those colors are available on the Chevy ordering site will change from like Victory Red to Crystal Red.
But If your dealer has an allocation he should be able to order your camaro at this time.
