WTF Chevrolet engineers!

Yesterday I finally installed a set of headers and exhaust on my 2018 1LE. When I dropped the exhaust and got a good look at the crimp Chevrolet put in our exhaust system I was quite dismayed. How many ponies does this exhaust restriction cost us Camaro owners? Come on guys! You can do better.

FWIW - this has been covered several times on the forum and the evidence provided is that while the crimps look very restrictive there is no appreciable loss of power.

OP - FYI the crimp is there due to a subframe member on the convertible. But it's been covered many times before.

Wow! Have never seen this before! How could they do that? No way anyone else has noticed this before on here!

I would love to see the evidence. Has anybody actually done back to back testing of a car with the crimps and then with only the crimps eliminated? Apparently this has been covered, but this is my first time seeing how squeezed the exhaust pipe is at the muffler.

I'm too lazy to search for it but yes - it was tested and the difference was so little that it's within the margin of error as to be significant.

Sorry guys - no new revelations here. For peace of mind change it out if you wish but don't expect any meaningful performance boost.

Guaranteed to gain 20hp with the substitution of a normal straight, round pipe.*

If you want to see the evidence, and this is going to seem WAY out of left field to someone like you.... do the ****ing research. It's on you, don't rely on others for your wants and needs. Apply this basically everywhere in your life.

Thanks in advance!
