Tires for street and strip

My original tires just made 13,000 miles so I just got a pair of Mickey Thompson 305/35/20 ET Street Radial IIs for an upcoming day at the strip...does anyone have any experience with these? I am planning on keeping them on for street driving as well (I drive it 2-3 days per week).

I hear you can get around 5,000 miles or so on a set.

I'm assuming you don't drive in the rain but if you do be very careful.

They pick up a lot of road debris and work very well at the track. Be careful in the rain but they are much better than non radials. Keep the air pressure near stock levels on the street and drop them to 18-20psi at the track.

Thanks for all the recs so far guys. I have not run it at the track with the current mods, and I only drive it when the forecast shows clear skies!

well, I run this tire on the wifes daily driver and she gets about 10,000 out of them before they get iffy in the rain, then I take it to the track and finish them.. I run them on my zl and you will not get a better hooking drag radial

I have been thinking of leaving a DOT approved race tire on my car instead of swapping all of the time. I live in the middle of nowhere and have to drive 100 miles to get to a big city. For me drag tires are not good, they are not near as stable as the other tires at triple digit speeds. It is probably worse for me decause my drag radials are on 17 inch rims and they are not the Mickey street radials. My toyo's make a better street tire but the car is really too low with them on. I can't speak for the Mickey's but my M&H are way to soft in the corners, even at 40 lbs of pressure.

^^^^^What he said^^^^^

They corner fine on the street. I wouldn't use them for a autocross.
