You just reminded me I've been meaning to post pictures of his little brother.

The little guy is 100 years old this year.

Awesome! I love old Colts. I want a 'vest pocket' model like yours to add to my Colt auto family portrait.

My model 1903 is from 1920 and my model 1911 is a US Property example made in 1918. I have traced the model 1911 as far as Springfield Armory in 1918 but I haven't been able to discover if that was for storage or shipment to France for WWI.

Personally I buy my lowers from Wideners (https://www.wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=700|863|1068) but a few dollars won't make a difference. The only thing that I would be iffy about is it being blemished. You don't know what kind of defect it will have.

Lowers use to cost about $100 but here recently I have been able to easily find them for $40-$50 plus shipping and FFL transfer.

Whoever is lowest plus it depends on how much I'm buying. If it's a few boxes then it's cheaper to get it at a gun show or Walmart. If I'm buying cases, I've been buying most of my bulk ammo from http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/. They normally have the cheapest cost with shipping.

...here in the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts even though shipping ammo to me is not illegal, virtually no company will, because our laws are so strange and confusing. They all assume that somehow, they'll get in trouble and honestly I can't blame them.

When I buy stripped forged lowers, I just go with Spikes Tactical. theyre popular, well established, and only $89.

www.ammoseek.com is the tits for buying ammo, it gives live up to the second prices from a lot of ammo suppliers, so you can easily find who has the cheapest prices.
