Update from APF: the Meziere WP329N does not fit the L99 because of the VVT.
http://www.meziere.com/ps-1507-1520-wp329n.aspx This water pump model features: . Fits 2010 and later Camaro's with GM LS-3 and L99 engines Jon@APF called Meziere and the Meziere guy said, "oops, guess we didn't test it on an L99." Anyone want an opened but unused Meziere Electric Water Pump for a Camaro LS3? This is why I'm glad I had it at the shop rather than all opened up in my backyard when this was discovered. I'd be really pissed then. As it is, I'm just . Padre |

When John sends me the pics I'll post them and maybe start a new thread, because apparently this is NEWS to Meziere that their advertised L99 EWP DOESN'T FIT and I got to be the first fool to find out. Too bad. I was really looking forward to trying out an EWP for the first time at the track. Otherwise Meziere EWP's have a good rep. Padre |

Wow! Almost 900 bucks for an electric water pump! Damn! That's high as giraffe ass! I never thought that it would cost near that! Anyway...what makes it not fit? Aren't the engines the same externally? I'm anxious to know the difference.

It's the extra thickness of the timing cover. It would work on LS3 no problem. I did a little measuring (with my highly calibrated eyeball) and it might could work with 1" or so spacers, I might do a little research with a block in the engine room and talk to Meziere about it...
Padre, sending you some pics shortly. |

What I was worried about was spacing the WP out an inch or more would end up putting the tensioner into the radiator But it looks like the mounting bosses for that are pretty far back and they also send almost an inch long spacer for the tensioner. It might be splitting hairs but I think it might work.... to the batcave LOL

Picked it up today. Going racing tonight at an 1/8th mile strip, Brainerd Optimist.
Two things: dayum it looks sharp lowered 1". Harder to get on my trailer, but dayum. Also, with the 3.45 gears, the 3200 TC, the lowering springs, and the front and rear sway bars, it is a different car, order of magnitude better. With just the 3200 TC, it was sluggish around town. Now it is tight. And that's keeping the stock tranny tune for daily driving (no reason for premature wear on the tranny for stoplight traffic). I'm impressed. Thanks to John and the gang at AFP for the help! Now we see if we can decrease the sixty-foots to get ready for the 11-second slip. Padre |
