HAHAHAHA, Oh man, if you get this done I can't wait to hear it out at Friday's!

You want the sound to be played from the car, right? Similar to how the horn honks when you hit the lock button twice?

I can already see Tag wanting a step-by-step DIY so he can do it too

I have no idea what you can do to make this work, but if you do that will be awesome! If I were you I'd talk to your local car audio and accessories installation store, or talk to a customization shop. Those are probably your best bets. Sorry I can't help but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this post to see what you do.

I am so stoked about this mod, i talked to a guy at the dealership and he is looking in to some different modules that will work best with camaros. He said it shouldnt be a problem to get it done. I will definitely let yall know so you can apply it to your cars if you want.

I have NO DOUBT this can be done, it would just take a little work. it would be easiest with an aftermarket alarm, but I would think that it might be able to be done with OE--

it will require a few parts--

basic parts needed: MP3 Trigger from SparkFun: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=9356

second, you'll need some sort of small amp (sparkfun has those, too but they're usually build your own kits) to drive an external speaker mounted in under the hood or something.... the MP3 trigger simply needs a trigger voltage of 3.5-5v and will play a specific MP3 (from an SD card)

no problem. I'm not sure what the best trigger would be, i am not sure, but i would guess that you would need to tie into the lock and unlock voltage circuts, and use a voltage regulator to go from 12v down to the proper trigger voltage. problem might be how to deal with power for the small amp... I suppose you would want to use some form of time delay relay on it, so it would trigger with the same trigger voltage for the MP3 trigger. (might need to add a second of blank silence to the begging of the MP3 track to be played)

Hey, someone just posted this on another thread:

https://www.ridetones.com/home

This looks like the exact solution to what you want to do.
