that is scary, you paid cash and didn't get the title at the same time?

you've given your money to someone without the title? this doesn't sound good. do you have the seller's info? was it a dealer?

so you've had your car sitting at your place for 2 months unable to drive?

The registration should have been given to you immediately and the title within 7 days. Something is amiss.

I had that problem here in AZ with a motorcycle. The DMV said if I did not get it, they would immediately pull their dealership license. Amazing how quickly I got my title. Now I know you are in CA, where second-hand weed smoke affects the general populace....but the law still applies, even there!

I usually buy cars in a different state than I live and the process is longer, but I start calling at day 30 and everyday there after. Dealer, DMV whoever. I almost have them within the next 7 days.

i dont think you would get the title from the dealer since its a new car. CA uses electronic titles dont they? or am i thinking of Kansas..? in any case, you should have received a certificate of ownership, and then the DMV will get you the title later.
