Question Tremec question

hey- i've got a thread in troubleshooting, but figured i'd drop a line here

anyone having issues or knowledge with Reverse not synching and making pretty nasty clunk/grind/slams? (TR-6060 V8 manual)
*example scenario- parked in garage, crank up, pop into neutral, release p-brake, clutch in, slide to reverse- cruuuuuuunch! row thru forward gears quickly and try again, sometimes it goes in smooth, others with a small clunk! and beginning to be more often, "cruuuuuunch!"

obviously clutch is fully depressed- all other shifts are smooth. difficulty with 3 & 6 gate occasionally not opening.

You should ALWAYS put into 1st gear before reverse, when you step on the clutch the transmission doesn't stop turning instantly and reverse has no synchronizer so for sure you are going to grind unless you wait awhile after pressing on the clutch.

Oooohhh nothing chaps me more than arguing over the phone with the Service manager AND tech that my car is "fine" and that "the V8manual doesn't have a fully synchronized reverse gear"....ohhh I was boiling. "LOOK IT UP, JERRY! And when you see I'm right, call me back and tell me what you're gonna do to fix my tremec TR-6060 (modified T-56) transmission....click"

I'm sooooo furious right now dammit. A customer can correct a salesman...that's all fine in my book..no it shouldn't happen, but I can live with it... but correcting an ASE. Master tech AND the shop manager!!!? You have got to be kidding me.

Looks like the service manager and tech don't know the cars they're supposed to know. Synchronized reverse is in the T56 as well as the TR6060, and that transmission has been around since the early 90s.

Replacing one synchro which services R and two forward gears...amy idea which those would be?
Synchro was showing significant wear marks and were rounded. They don't know why it failed- get it back tomorrow assuming some bolts arrive.

My bad on the reverse syncros, anyway I looked it up and it's 5th, 6th and reverse that are together.

Feels great..nice positive engagement, tight feel. Reverse is smooth, no 5th gear lockout any more under heavy load. Hopefully it stays this way- the price tag on all that was pretty high haha
