Camaro problem, missing
Hi, My Camaro ss has 14282 miles on it.
Put exhaust on a couple of months ago, ported throttle body, and it ran fine... Couple of weeks ago when gainig speed I started hesitating... like it was missing or something. I work 14-7 schedule and stay out of town for the 14 so didn't have time to mess with it.. today I decided to drive it and the hesitation got worse and worse to the point where I thought it was going to die in first gear. put slp headers/exhaust on a few months ago and it ran fine until this.. the 3 codes that are showing are all o2 sensors according to the chevy dealer. what should I do? replace the o2 sensors? Take it to someone and have it tuned? Or could it be a worse problem? also... the 02 codes have been showing since I got the exhaust |

Unfortunately your car is a picky one. With headers its hit and miss with them running fine. The rear o2 sensors will freak out and cause issues. You probably just need a tune and you'll be fine. Plus you will getthe full potential of the headers!

Did you take the spark plugs out when you installed your headers? If not my guess is it's going to be a cracked spark plug.
I don't think the O2 sensor CEL is going to make the car run bad. I guess if the rear one is bad or something it's possible that it's reading the O2 incorrectly and either giving or taking fuel and spark. Probably going to a tuner wouldn't be a bad idea.

Since you have had the O2 codes since the exhaust installation I think you may have been running too rich and may have fouled out one or more spark plugs. But just a guess, pull them and look.

Rear O2 only tell computer your cats are working. Front two do fuel management. Either you can try spacers on the front 02 censors, or check your spark plugs as another mentioned. If you tune out your o2 sensors... no more problems unless it is indeed your plugs.

When my trunions went bad the computer showed a code for random misfire due to plugs fouling. If plugs were the issue, wouldn't he be getting a misfire code?

Do you have a catch can? I had my drain plug on my catch can loosen up and cause a small vacuum leak. That started throwing codes from my O2 sensors that they were running lean.
