If you are thinking of getting a CAM, Do it!

Best $$ I have spent on a vehicle in a long time. Sounds amazing and drives like a scalding dog! LOVE IT!

Thanks to the gang at RPM in Garner, NC. Made 443 RWHP. I have headers, CAM, CAI and tune.

57 more to go!!!!

I am not sure of the breakdown as I had a package deal. They are the best around though so give them a call for a quote. One thing for sure you will not get the 1 on 1 attention they give no where else around here.

I love the sound from the cam but not sure it's worth it for the HP gain ? I was thinking supercharger, exhaust and CAI. How much would a cam and install typically cost ?

Cams are relatively cheap anywhere between 300 and 400 bucks plus install. You will need springs and rods too but if your gonna pony up for a charger you should do a cam designed to work with forced induction too. Usually even the mildest cam will gain enough hp to make it worth it.

I knew the cam itself was relatively cheap but thought the install would be pretty expensive, looked at what was involved and seemed time consuming, more on the verge of $1-2K installed. But if I could get it installed and purchased for $400 then yes that's much more attractive.

Install shouldn't be 1000 install, I have heard some places charge that but that's too high. You should be able to get a cam, springs, rods for 700 or 800 roughly and installed for another 500 or so. These are estimates but close, I had a quote when I was cam shopping amd the place was very well resepcted and also had great prices I belive they quoted 4-500 for install. Everything is more expensive in Cali though.
