HELP! traction button not working

Hi guys , i have a friend that has the 2010 SS camaro and his traction button wont work and the traction wont turn off.. any idea?

Pull up the shifter bezel that the T/C and power outlet is attached too. Its just held in with press-in style clips.

Pop it out and make sure the connector on the backside of the button is connected.

Its possible the previous owner disconnected it to stop any OTHER drivers from shutting off the T/C and S/T.
